BOLLINGER HAS A NEW DENTAL NETWORK

We are pleased to announce that effective February 1, 2009 the Preferred Provider Network for the group dental insurance plans, underwritten by Monumental Life Insurance Company and administered by Bollinger, will be changing from NovaNet/Aetna Dental Administrators to the DenteMax Network.  

We are making this change for a number of important reasons:

Greater Plan Design Flexibility: 

By utilizing the DenteMax network, Bollinger will be able to offer more plan choices to its customers.  This increased flexibility will allow Bollinger to better serve its customers’ needs.

Greater Network Accessibility:

The DenteMax network includes over 84,500 dental provider locations on a nationwide basis.

Reduced Administrative Expense:

DenteMax’s lower administrative charges will reduce overall claim costs, which will help to keep future premium increases to a minimum.

Continuity of Care: 

Prior to making this network change, we compared both networks to determine the degree of overlap between the two networks.  Since the vast majority of NovaNet providers also participate in the larger DenteMax network, this change will be seamless for most plan participants. In those few cases where an employee’s dentist is in the NovaNet network, but not in the new DenteMax network, the employee may continue to go to their current provider without incurring any benefit reduction or penalty.  However, in order to best utilize the program the individual may want to encourage their dentist to join the DenteMax network, or find a DenteMax provider in their area.

Please Note: There are no penalties, or reduction in benefits, associated with utilizing a non-network provider.  However, our plans can be best utilized, and benefit levels maximized, by using a network provider for dental treatment.
